Fillers
When it comes to selecting an anti-wrinkle treatment that quickly and effectively eliminates wrinkles and fine lines, it is hard to argue against the use of Dermal Fillers. Dermal fillers are injected into the area of concern and instantly fill and plump the skin making it smooth and wrinkle free. While the results are not permanent, they are among the most significant of treatments to resolve the onset or existence of wrinkles. There is no product available on the market that can mirror the results achieved with injectable dermal fillers. Injections work quickly, effectively and with a qualified specialist administering them, customers can achieve that smooth skin of their youth. That is without surgery. Another benefit of these injections is the fact that there is no down time form this treatment. A person can receive their treatment and be back on with their life immediately as opposed to Cosmetic Surgery which means a number of weeks of down time. :
Dermal Filler injections are temporary.

How long the effect of Filler treatment lasts is very individual. It depends on many factors such as the structure of the skin, lifestyle and age as well as on the degree of perfection demanded by the individual. However, we know that for the majority of the patients treated about 50-80% of the effect remains after 6 months. Most people choose to have a touch-up done within a year of the original treatment.
The great thing about Restylane is that you can replenish your natural beauty whenever you feel the need. A touch-up can be performed any time you like after the previous treatment.

So while they allow for months of smooth skin, if for some reason you are unhappy or wish for the results to fade, they do. Over time these substances that are found naturally in your body absorb into the body. While injections will require constant maintenance to see continued results, it provides you the flexibility that a surgical procedure does not. The dermal filler market remains one of the fastest growing categories in all of facial plastic surgery, and hyaluronic acid-based fillers are among the most popular in this field. Other soft tissue filler options include Sculptra and Radiesse. Wrinkle reducers like Botox and Dysport also fall into the injectables category and may be used along with soft tissue fillers as part of an overall facial treatment strategy. Facial Fillers can be categorised into two distinct options and depending on your specific needs, you can decide what is the best option for you during your free consultation. The two main types of fillers available are outlined below-

Light to Moderate Fillers
Light to Moderate fillers such as restylane and teosyl etc. are hyaluronic acid based fillers which is present in the body and when injected it works together with the body’s own hyaluronic acid and joins forces to create volume. Fillers such as Restylane give an immediate effect and can last from 6 to 10 months and are ideal for lines that run from nose to mouth, or those bothersome lines that can form around the lips. Even deep wrinkles will be significantly reduced, and your skin will look plumper and more youthful. This is a wonderful treatment as the result is instant. You may have heard the expression “wearing your emotions on your sleeve,” but in reality you wear them on your face. After years of crinkling and wrinkling through facial expressions, start to linger longer and can become more pronounced. For women, whose faces tend to be more animated than men’s, and whose skin is typically more delicate, these lines may appear exaggerated and more permanent. For Glabellar lines and wrinkles in your cheeks Light to Moderate Dermal Fillers are hugely successful and are the preferred treatment in Medilase

Deep Fillers- Radiesse
Deep Fillers such as Radiesse or Sculptra are long term fillers. They both are used primarily for filling in nasolabial or cheek grooves. Radiesse, gives immediate results and over time is reabsorbed by your body. The effects of Radiesse can last from 12 to 18 months and is usually directed to a specific area on the face.
Radiesse is an ideal treatment to give volume to your face but you would need a consultation before a decision could be made. Radiesse is used to treat the following areas-
-
Smile lines that run between your nose and the outer portion of your lips
-
Marionette lines that extend from the outer corners of your mouth down toward your chin
-
The corners of your mouth (oral commissure)
-
The area on either side of your chin (pre-jowl sulcus)

Deep Fillers - Sculptra
LIp Fillers
Sculptra on the other hand is the longest performing filler lasting up to 2 years but you may not see an immediate effect like you do with Restylane or Radiesse. Sculptra has two main effects against wrinkles and facial folds. It thickens skin and stimulates the body to replace lost collagen (the main protein that gives our skin structure). Collagen production declines with advancing age and Sculptra is designed to stimulate collagen production. Unlike other fillers on the market, Sculptra works gradually. Your wrinkles, facial folds and sunken areas will fill out over a period of weeks. While Sculptra’s effects take time to appear, the results last up to two years. There is no downtime with Sculptra. You can put on makeup and head back to the office immediately after your treatment session. The injected volume will disappear as the fluid is absorbed. During the following month, your body produces the collagen and the smooth result returns. Lip Volume – To create a more pronounced mouth and fuller lips, a filler such as Restylane (Hyaluronic acid) is injected into the inside of the upper and or lower lip. It is possible to softly plump up the top and bottom lip to create fuller, more sensual lips, making you look years younger! Typically, the results can last up to twelve months, depending on the type of dermal filler chosen.

Lip Line – This is often combined with the marking of the contour of the lip by injecting the gel along the lip line. Redefining this edge leads to a more youthful and appealing look. It also prevents lipstick “bleeding” into the small lines around the lips.

Upper Lip Ridges – The lines that go up towards the nose (philtrum ridges) are the central grooves on the external surface of the upper lip. These of course are not expression lines but they do give the mouth character. A pronounced philtrum usually means a well-defined Cupid’s bow on the upper lip. The shape and definition of the philtrum is genetically determined and can be defined by injecting gel into them to re-define what has been lost due to age or other factors.

Smokers Lines – Smokers tend to pucker their mouth when they puff on their cigarette. The constant contractions of the muscles around the area of the mouth cause wrinkles or fine lines(crows feet) to develop around the mouth. This may also be due to changes in the blood supply to your skin as you get older.

Corners Mouth (Turned down mouth) – The most obvious but subtle treatment is at the side of your mouth where over time the muscles weaken and the sides of your mouth turn down only slightly, but it gives an overall look of “sagging” leading to a tired or negative look. It is amazing what a slight lift to this region (oral commissures) which gives you an immediate positive and happy look. Often the down-turned mouth is accompanied by downward folds (marionette folds) and correction may also be suggested to addresses this area.
